SCHOOL NITE
A curated evening of crafting and snacks for you and your crew at Lincoln Street Center

School Nite is a curated evening of crafting and snacks for you and a group of your friends/family/co-workers/neighbors, held in my spacious and well stocked studio at the Lincoln Street Center in Rockland, Maine.

You gather your crew, pick a date, and choose what kind of workshop you'd like to take together from a menu of crafts that include sewing, visible mending, needle felting, weaving, collage and more. I'll design a workshop lovingly tailored to the specific needs of your group.

I'll provide all the materials you'll need to make a project, as well as a spread of tasty nibbles and non-alcoholic beverages. (BYOB encouraged, if you want to have a little extra fun on a school night!) All you have to do is show up with your crew. No experience needed, and mixed levels are welcome.

The fee for a School Nite is $450 and includes instruction, materials, and snacks for up to 6 people. Got more than 6 folks in your crew? Groups of 7-12 people can be accommodated for an extra $25/person.

A Year of Poems in the Mail
$200.00

Poetryscopes are short poems, in the form of a horoscope or fortune, using a single word as a jumping off place, a portal into meaning. They’re short and sweet. They cut to the chase, aim to open a window into a single image or moment, and offer the reader a sip of comfort, hope, or inspiration.

Each poem is hand-typed, and comes sealed in a kraft paper envelope. Photo is an example. Each Poetryscope is different.

You will be emailed a card you can print and tuck into an envelope, to let the recipient know they have something special to look forward to for the next 12 months.

Celebrate WORLD CYANOTYPE DAY by learning the art of making prints with the sun!

World Cyanotype Day is an annual event celebrating the cyanotype photographic process, held on the last Saturday of September. This year's theme is "Cultivating Community," encouraging artists to create and share work that fosters connection and creativity.

In this workshop we’ll work with concepts of light and dark, shadows and ghosts, and collaborations with the unknown, as we learn how to make prints on fabric using the power of the sun and the magic of cyanotypes.

We’ll take inspiration from the land, collecting shapes that call to us in the form of leaves, sticks, flowers, or feathers. We'll delight in the beauty of everyday and ordinary, as we contemplate the shapes of familiar objects and keepsakes from around our home.

Once we make our prints, we’ll use that fabric to make a small quilt/wall hanging, adding stitches as another layer of meaning. Along the way we’ll explore elements of composition, design, and embracing mistakes, all while learning the basics of quilt making.

Kits will be provided and include treated fabric to make prints, quilt batting, and backing fabric.

Please bring:

  • scissors

  • a sewing machine in good working order*

  • thread for your sewing machine

  • objects from around your home you'd like to make prints of

  • a bag lunch

No previous experience needed.

*Several sewing machines are available if you don't have one. Please make a note when you register if you need to borrow a machine.
